These Terms of Service apply to your use of Modex, a Discord bot that provides moderator-invoked moderation commands and stores moderation case history. By inviting or using Modex, you agree to these terms.
1. Using Modex
Modex is intended for use in Discord servers by people who are authorized to manage or moderate those servers. Its commands act only when invoked; Modex does not automatically scan conversations or make moderation decisions on its own.
Your use of Modex is also subject to Discord’s terms and policies. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the bot.
2. Acceptable use
You may use Modex only for lawful purposes and in accordance with Discord’s rules. Do not use the bot to harass, threaten, unlawfully discriminate against, or otherwise harm people, or to interfere with Discord or another person’s use of its services.
Do not attempt to disrupt, exploit, or gain unauthorized access to Modex, its deployment, or its data. Do not use moderation commands to bypass the rules or permissions that apply to your server.
3. Server and moderator responsibilities
Server owners and administrators are responsible for deciding whether Modex is appropriate for their server, configuring the bot’s role and permissions, and choosing who may use its commands. Moderators are responsible for the actions they take, the reasons they enter, and complying with applicable server rules and laws.
Moderation records are not a substitute for your own review or judgment. Avoid entering sensitive personal information in moderation reasons. Server operators are responsible for access to their bot deployment and its stored database.
4. Availability and limitations
Modex is provided on an as-available basis. No particular uptime, response time, feature availability, or uninterrupted operation is promised. The bot may be changed, paused, or discontinued, and commands may fail because of Discord, hosting, permission, or other technical conditions.
Modex relies on Discord’s services and server permissions. A successful command, notification, or stored case cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance. Where available, the bot reports errors rather than treating an unsuccessful moderation action as successful.
5. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as Modex changes. The effective date above indicates when this page was last updated. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms describe use of the Modex bot and are not legal advice.
